Picnic for Catechism Students, 2009
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” J with this in mind we arranged a one day picnic for our catechism students to Wicklow and Brittas beach in 2009, under the leadership of Rev Fr. Thankachan Paul Njaliath, the catechism teachers and Lucan committee members. This event was very much welcomed by the students and parents alike. We started off from Divine Mercy Church, Lucan in the morning and returned back around 6.00 pm in the evening after a day full of fun, entertainment and excitement for the kids. Activities organised at Wicklow during this picnic included, mountain walk etc. After having our dinner at Wicklow, we proceeded onto Brittas beach. Though the water was very cold, the children loved the time they had in the beach. Apart from the committee members and catechism teachers, there was also the Irish coast guard patrolling the beach ensuring the safety of our children. A barbeque was also arranged over there where we could relish on tasty sausages, chicken legs and also make peanut fry. This indeed was a wonderful occasion for everyone and we hope we will be in a position to organise one such trip in the near future.
