Visit of Mar Sebastian Vadakkel on 20/05/2009

Mar Sebastian Vadakkel MST, bishop of Ujjain and Chairman of ‘Commission for Evangelization and Pastoral Care of the Migrants’ made an official visit to Ireland in May 2009. He studied about the function of Syro-Malabar Church in Dublin, and gave necessary corrections regarding the functioning of central committee. Having a detailed discussion with delegates of Dublin Archdiocese, Chaplains of Syro-Malabar Church Dublin and representatives of laities, it was decided to form “sabhayogam, executive committee, and local committee, bounded by the ‘yogam’ bylaws of the Syro-Malabar Church, for the smooth functioning of the Syro-Malabar Church Dublin, Ireland.

Syro-Malabar Major Archbishop Mar George Alencherry, the then Bishop of Thuckala Diocese, had a visit to the Syro Malabar Migrants at Dublin and offered Holymass at Blanchardstown.

Mar George Valiamattam, Archbishop of Tellicherry, visited Syro-Malabar Migrants in Dublin, Ireland in June 2007. During his short visit he found time to meet the Syro-Malabar faithful, and celebrated Holy Mass at Divine Mercy Church, Lucan.

Condolence Mass – Major Archbishop Mar Varkey Vithayathil

Our past Major Archbishop (Late) Mar Varkey Vithayathil attained eternal life on 1 April 2011. He had been a great inspiration and support in establishment of the Syro Malabar Community at Dublin and will always be fondly remembered. A holy mass to offer condolences and to pray for his departed soul was conducted at Divine Mercy Church, Lucan on 3 April 2011. May his soul rest in Eternal Peace.
